Byzantine lead seal of Dionysios imperial spatharokandidatos (10th cent.)
Condition: Fine, as in pictures.

Obverse: Patriarchal cross in the middle on three steps with floral decoration, surrounded by the usual circular inscription, Κ(ΥΡΙ)Ε ΒΟΗΘΕΙ ΤΩ CΩ ΔΟΥΛO = Κύριε, βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ (Lord, help your servant), all within dotted border.

Reverse: Inscription in 6 lines, following a decorative pattern and a cross, all within a dotted border: + [ΔΙ]ΟΝΥ/CΗΩ Β(ΑCΙΛΙΚΩ) CΠΑ/ΘΑΡΟΚΑΝΔ(ΑΤΩ)/.....CΛΑΡ/ΤΩ.ΙΟΤΟΚ/.C.Ω = + Διονυσίῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαροκανδιδάτῳ... (Dionysios imperial spatharokandidatos...).
