Roman Medusa Phalera
1st-2nd century AD. A substantial bronze discoid phalera with concentric rings to the border, domed centre with Medusa in high relief, fleshy features, wavy hair, wings to the brow, serpents tied below the chin, 200 grams, 75mm (3"). Property of a private collector; acquired before 1975.
