Large Parthian Gold Earring Pair
3rd century BC-2nd century AD. A matched pair of gold earrings, each a substantial hoop with hook-and-eye closure, small lateral loop and larger below with granule, dangle with granulated collars and garnet oblate beads. 22 grams total, 68mm (2 3/4"). Property of a London gentleman; previously in the late Hassan Reyhani collection before 2000; acquired on the UK art market in the 1980s-early 1990s; thence by descent. [2]
Very fine condition.
