Description
Parthian Gilt Silver Phiale Mesomphalos
2nd-1st century BC. A parcel-gilt silver phiale mesomphalos with central dome, chamfered rim, rosette within a punched border surrounded by a band of palmettes and lotus flower detailing. 504 grams, 21.3cm (8 1/4"). From an old European collection; acquired in Munich in the 1970s.
Very fine condition.
