Judaea, Herodian Kingdom. Herod I. Æ Prutah (2.59 g), 40-4 BCE. Uncertain mint in Samaria, RY 3(38/7 BCE). Palm branch with objects (leaves?) to either side. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ HPΩΔOY, aphlaston; in left field, date (L Γ); in right field, monogram. Hendin 1172; TJC 47. Unususally well centered. Hard green patina. Rare, particularly so in this choice grade. Choice Very Fine. Estimate Value $300 - UP
