Description

BRITISH COINS. George III, 1760-1820. Gold Guinea, 1813, London. PCGS MS63. 8.40 g. 24 mm. S.3730. This the last guinea date of 1813 was struck to pay the armed forces fighting in the Napoleonic Wars, hence it is known as the 'Military guinea'. It is estimated that around 80,000 were minted, making this a scarce coin. Very rare in uncirculated condition. Another example graded PCGS MS63 recently sold in Heritage Auctions' Chicago Sale for $9,987.50 incl. buyers premium. Only 2 examples are graded higher by PCGS. Housed in a secure plastic holder, authenticated and graded PCGS MS63, certification number 80515980.
