TENASSERIM-PEGU: Anonymous, 17th-18th century, cast large tin coin (28.53g), Robinson-59 (Plate 12.1, same dies), 64mm, the tò (mythical antelope) facing right, with feathery legs and holding a branch in its mouth // 8-spoke wheel in the center, Buddhist legend around in Burmese letters ("city of great happiness"), natural casting defect at the top plus one small piercing, a wonderful example! gorgeous EF-AU, RR. This magnificent piece may have been pierced for suspension, perhaps for religious purposes.
