SHAHS OF BADAKHSHAN: Dawlatshah, 1291-1294, AR dirham (1.88g) (Badakhshan), AH(6)92, A-2013S, qa'an / al-'adil / sikka in obverse center, with his laqab shams al-din fully legible, plus the first few letters of dawlatshah and most of the date, mount removed, crude VF, RRR. This type was formally regarded as purely Great Mongol, but now that a few specimens have been published, the full attribution become possible. The reverse margin reads "badakhshan shams al-din dawlatshah bin 'ali shah," reconstructed by the examples that were in our auctions 29, 30 and this auction.
