PTOLEMAIC EGYPT. Ptolemy I Soter, 323-283 B.C. AR Tetradrachm, ca. 306-300 B.C. NGC Ch F. Graffito.
CPE-75; Svor-178; SNG Cop-Unlisted. Struck in the name of Alexander III (the Great) of Macedon. Obverse: Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, wearing elephant skin and aegis around neck; Reverse: Athena advancing right, brandishing spear and holding shield; monogram to inner left; to right, helmet, ΔI, and eagle standing right on thunderbolt. An overall well centered example of this SCARCE control mark combination.
