TITUS AS CAESAR, A.D. 69-79. AV Aureus (6.93 gms), Rome Mint, A.D. 73. NGC Ch F, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 4/5.
RIC-557 (Vespasian); Calico-794. Obverse: T CAES IMP VESP CEN, laureate head right; Reverse: VESTA, Temple of Vesta: round-domed, tetrastyle temple, with four steps leading up to it; statue of Vesta dancing within, flanked by statue to left and right of Temple. A pleasing architectural type struck while Titus was Caesar under his father, Vespasian, this piece exhibits some moderate wear but nevertheless remains an excellent representation.
