Obverse: CAESAR IMP, wreathed head right; star to left; Reverse: P SEPVLLIVS MACER, Venus standing left, with head lowered, holding victoriola and scepter set upon star. Offering a deep cabinet tone, this impressive example presents a few minor flan flaws and some typical off centering, but nevertheless features a pleasing, stern portrait of the man would be assassinated in the days or weeks following this coin's striking. Some cobalt hints and tinges of underlying luster simply augment its charm.
