Cr-466/1; CRI-56; Calico-37b; Syd-1018. Obverse: C - CAESAR COS - TER, veiled female head right; Reverse: A HIRTIVS PR, emblems of the augurate and pontificate: lituus, guttus, and securis. Struck just a few years before the assassination of Caesar, this aureus features a solid strike on a fairly broad flan. A good deal of luster remains, with little evidence of any handling. SCARCE and highly appealing.
