Obverse: Laureate head of Janus, with curved truncation; Reverse: Jupiter, holding reins and scepter, and preparing to hurl thunderbolt, driving quadriga right; ROMA in incuse on raised tablet in exergue. An incredibly wholesome example of this popular type, offering an splendidly well centered strike with an alluring old cabinet tone. Some hints of brilliance add further charm, making this specimen a decided cut above that which is normally encountered. A minor flan crack near the edge is noted merely for completeness.
