medal nd (1574ce) Ae 14.7g Arm III:282 RRR vf+ This extremely rare medal was cast during the reign of Philipp II (1556-1598ce). On the obverse is portrayed John of Austria, son of the German Kaiser Karl V and Philipp’s half-brother. On the reverse there are war ships in position to invade the fortified city of Tunis; with trumpet in hand Fama oversees the impending victory. Ex Peus 400:1631.
