COINS OF THE GREEK WORLD. THRACE. Thasos. Tetradrachm c. 168/7-148 BC. Head of youthful Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rv. ΗΡΑΚΛΕΟΥΣ - ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ - ΘΑΣΙΩΝ Herakles standing front, head to left, holding club with his right hand and with quiver and lion skin draped over his left shoulder; in inner left field, ΔΙ. 17.08 g. SNG ANS 521. SNG Copenhagen 1038. Struck on a broad flan. Good very fine. (~€ 175/USD 200) From an old Swiss collection, formed in the mid 20th century, most likely acquired from Dr. H.
