Solidus 392-395. Officina Z. Obv. D N ARCADI - VS P F AVG Draped and cuirassed bust to r., with rosette diadem. Rev. VICTORI - A AVGGG Z Emperor standing to r., foot on captive, holding labarum and Victory on globus; in field, S - M; in exergue COMOB. RIC IX 14c var. (Sirmium). RIC X 1. (‘Sirmium’). 4.42 g. Very rare. About extremely fine. Ex Auction Auctiones AG 15, Basel. 1985. Lot 833. RIC IX knows only an issue from officina S for the type with pearl diadem. RIC X does noit list the rosette diadem issue. Grierson/Mays p. 119-121 explain convincingly why the mint is Constantinopolis. S – M meaning Sacra Moneta.
