Bronze Æ
34mm., 16,89g.
IMP CA[...]VS PERTINAX AVG, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, c/m: CAΓ (AΓ ligate) / Uncertain legend (KELANEINV[...]PVPIEPTIG[...], maybe the names of Caracalla and Geta), two standing figures (Caracalla and Geta) sacrificing over altar.
nearly very fine
Unpublished in the standard references (but see: CNG 181, 269 & CNG 41, 1475); for c/m: Howgego 581. From the Tareq Hani collection
The identification of the mint is still debated, but the fact that this countermark appears otherwise only on coins of Laodicea ad Mare (Howgego 581) suggests a likely candidate.
