Abydos after the Peace of Antalkidas in 387 BC came under the rule of the Achaemenid Persian Empire, until it was occupied by Macedonians in 335 BC. The long series of silver coins with Apollo and eagle types with more than twenty magistrates' names, may be attributed after the reopening of the mint city to circa 320 to 280 BC.
