Description

Central Europe, the Boii AR Hexadrachm. Biatec, mid to late 1st century BC. Jugate male heads ('Honos' and 'Virtus') right, one wearing laurel wreath, the other wearing helmet; ivy leaf before / Male rider riding galloping hippogriff to right, holding ivy stem over shoulder in right hand; BIATEC in exergue. Göbl, Hexadrachmen pl. 2, II/1 (1), 1 (same dies); Paulsen pl. 30, 718-723; Lanz 62 (this coin). 16.52g, 24mm, 6h.
