THESSALY. Pharsalos. Drachm (End of 5th century BC).

Obv: Head of Athena right, wearing Attic helmet with plant decoration and an eagle’s wing, behind which snake coils forward. C/m on cheek: Boeotian shield.
Rev: ΦAPΣ.
Thessalian cavalryman on horse prancing to right, wearing petasos, chlamys and short chiton, holding a lagobolon over his right shoulder; all in concave field.

Condition: Very fine.
