Description

KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great' (336-323 BC). Tetradrachm. Damaskos. Possible lifetime issue.

Obv: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin.
Rev: AΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ.
Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and sceptre. Controls: In left field, forepart of ram right; below throne, 4 pellets between struts, ΔΑ below struts.

Price 3210; HGC 3.1, 910j.

Condition: Near extremely fine, light graffiti on the reverse.

Weight: 17.21 g.
