L. VALERIUS ACISCULUS. Fourrée Denarius (45 BC). Imitating Rome.

Obv: ACISCVLVS.
Diademed head of Apollo right; acisculus to left, star above; all within wreath.
Rev: L VALERIVS.
Human-headed owl right, wearing helmet; shield and two spears behind; all within wreath.

Cf. Crawford 474/2b (for prototype); cf. CRI 91a (same).

Interesting contemporary imitation of a very rare type.

Condition: Good fine.

Weight: 3.75 g.
Diameter: 18 mm.
