ATTICA. Athens. Tetradrachm (135/4 BC). New Style Coinage. Menedemos, Epigenes and Epigo-, magistrates.

Obv: Helmeted head of Athena right.
Rev: A - ΘE / ME - NEΔ / EΠI / ΓENO / EΠIΓO.
Owl standing right on amphora, head facing. Controls: To left, Asklepios standing left, leaning upon serpent-entwined staff; Ξ on amphora, HP below amphora; all within wreath.

Thompson 351d; HGC 4, 1602.

Ex Triton XIV (4 January 2011), lot 184 (which realized a hammer of $1,000).

Condition: Near extremely fine.
