Description

KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great' (336-323 BC). Tetradrachm. Uncertain mint in western Asia Minor.

Obv: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin.
Rev: Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and sceptre. Controls: Monogram in left field, grape bunch below throne.

Price 2721; HGC 3.1, 940g (Alexander IV).
