Obv: IMP LIC VALERIANVS.
Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right.
Rev: COL AV / TROA.
Apollo, head right and holding lyre, seated facing on griffin springing right, head left.

Bellinger A434; CNG E-302, lot 247.

Though the griffin is not specifically associated with Apollo Smintheus, it does allude to his journey to the Hyperboreans whose gold was guarded by griffins. Very rare.

Condition: Good fine.

Weight: 7.49 g.
Diameter: 23 mm.
