Description

LUCANIA. Poseidonia. Circa 410-350 BC. Nomos (Silver, 18.5 mm, 7.40 g, 11 h). [ΠΟΣΕΙΔΩΝ] Poseidon striding to right, brandishing trident and with chlamys over his shoulders; to right, head of ketos upwards. Rev. ΠΟΣΕΙΔΑΝ[I] Bull standing left on ground line; between legs, sepia. HN Italy 1134. Kraay 5. SNG ANS 691 ( same reverse die ). Toned. Struck from a very worn obverse die, otherwise, good fine.
