Description

SICILY. Entella. Punic issues, circa 300-289 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 16.73 g, 3 h). Head of Herakles-Melqart to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. 'MHSBM Horse's head to left; behind, date palm; to left, astragalos. Cf. Jenkins, Punic 367 ( O114/R- ). Beautifully toned and centered. Extremely fine.

This coin is, quite simply, remarkably nice: beautifully centered, beautifully toned, and boldly struck in high relief, what more could one ask?.
