CELTIC, Britain. Trinovantes & Catuvellauni. Epaticcus, circa AD 35-43. Unit (Silver, 12.5 mm, 1.18 g, 8 h). EPATI Male head to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. Eagle standing facing with spread wings, head turned to left, holding snake with its talons; above to right, Θ. ABC 1346. BMC 2024-2293. SCBC 356. Van Arsdell 580. Sharply struck, toned and attractive. Nearly extremely fine.
