MARITIMAM / E.BATIVIAE. ORIS.DEO.AVSPICE / ET VENTIS.SECVNDIS.SVSCIPER ET. IN / LVSITANIAM. VT.DEBITVM.SIBI / SOLIVM.HISPANIAE. FOEDERATORVM / ARMIS.AC.CONSILIIS.ADIVTVS / VIRTVTE. DVCE.AC. VICTRICE / IVSTITIA.SIBI.VINDICARET / ATQVE. PROFLIGATO.HOSTE / BONIS.AVIBVS / CONSCENDERET (= To the happy arrival of Charles III, King of Spain, who embarked from Holland for Portugal, under the protection of God and with a favorable wind, to master the throne of Spain, which was due to him, assisted by the arms and councils of his allies, conducted by Valor and Victorious Justice, to finally mount the throne under happy circumstances, after having defeated his enemies ) Laudatory inscription of 14 lines.
