Description

KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip III Arrhidaios, 323-317 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.18 g, 4 h), Babylon, c. 323-318/7. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΦIΛIΠΠOY / BAΣIΛEΩΣ Zeus seated on throne to left, his feet on a footstool, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; in field to left, M; below throne, ΛY. Price P181. An attractive, toned example struck in high relief. Some minor marks, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
