GREEK COINS Kings of Macedon Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetrad­rachm (Silver, 25mm, 14.48g 12), Pella, c. 336/5-329/8. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Nude jockey on horse prancing to left, holding long palm branch in his right hand; below horse, kantharos. Haeberlin Col­lection 1937, 13 = pl. VI, 13 ( this coin ). Le Rider 344f ( this coin, taken from a cast in Berlin ). A lovely and attractively toned piece of very fine style. Minor scratch on the ob­verse, otherwise , about extremely fine.
