Description

MACEDON. Terone. Circa 490-480 BC. Stater (Silver, 28.5 mm, 17.31 g). Amphora with three grape clusters draped over the shoulder. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Asyut 225 (this coin). Hardwick Group II, 4. Sharp, clearly struck and attractive. Deep test cut at 11' on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.

From the Vineyard Collection, bought privately from Baldwin's in 1998, ex Classical Numismatic Group 42, 29 May 1997, 220 and from the Asyut find of 1969.
