Description

SICILY. Syracuse. Fifth Democracy, 214-212 BC. 8 Litrai (Silver, 22 mm, 6.79 g, 8 h). Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Corinthian helmet, pendant earring, pearl necklace and aegis; behind her head, monogram of ΑΓ. Rev. ΣΥΡΑΚΟΣΙΩΝ Thunderbolt; below, Σ Ω. Burnett, Enna 87 (dies 5/16). SNG ANS 1044. Very attractive, well-struck and nicely toned. Tiny flan crack on the reverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
