Nude and bearded warrior riding right on prancing horse; wearing high helmet and holding spear in his upraised right hand and the reins in his left. Rev. [C]E - ΛΑ (retrograde) Forepart of man-headed bull (Acheloös) to right. Jenkins, Gela 28 (O9/R11). Kraay-Hirmer 156 (same dies). A beautifully toned and sharply struck example. Slight traces of overstriking, otherwise, good extremely fine.
