Description

BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 460 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 12.5 mm, 1.23 g, 6 h). ϘPO (retrograde) Tripod with three ring handles and legs ending in lion's paws; between legs, two erect serpents. Rev. Kantharos flanked by two snakes. BMC 59. Garrucci pl.109, 23. HN III 2126. Extremely rare. Nicely toned. Traces of corrosion, otherwise, extremely fine.
