★ A pedigreed Drachm from Dionysios I ★

SICILY. Syracuse . Dionysios I, 405-367 BC. Drachm (Bronze, 30 mm, 38.04 g, 12 h), struck circa 395-367. Head of Athena to left, wearing Corinthian helmet. Rev. Sea-star between two dolphins. Boehringer, Dionysios pl. 39, 44. CNS II 62. SNG ANS 454. Particularly attractive and well-preserved. Good very fine.
