Calabria. Tarentum. Circa 272-240 BC. Stater (Silver, 20 mm, 6.39 g, 4 h), D(i) … and Apollonios. Warrior, wearing a lorica and a crested helmet, holding a lance in his right hand and a large round shield in his left, on horse galloping to right; to left, Δ; below, AΠOΛ/Λ [ΩNIOΣ]. Rev. TAPAΣ Phalanthos riding dolphin to left, holding trident over right shoulder and being crowned with wreath by Nike flying towards him; below, waves. HN III 1038. SNG ANS 1216. Vlasto 894.
