Description

SICILY. Leontini . Circa 476-466 BC. Tetrachalkon (Silver, 26 mm, 16.99 g, 9 h). Bearded charioteer driving quadriga galloping to right. Rev. ΛEONTINON Lion's head with open jaws to right; around, four grains of barley. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte 2 (same obv. die). Randazzo 77-78 (same dies). SNG ANS. 198-199 (same obv. die). SNG Lloyd 1043 (same obv. die). Toned and well centered. Very fine.
