BRUTTIUM. Kaulonia . Circa 500-480 BC. 1/3 Stater (Silver, 15 mm, 2.63 g). ΚΑVΛΟ ( retrograde ) Apollo striding right; to right, stag. Rev. ΚΑVΛΟ ( retrograde ) Apollo striding left; to left, stag; all incuse. HN III 2039. Noe, Caulonia 204. SNGANS 163. Bold and well-struck. Very fine.
From the collection of W.F. Stoecklin, Amriswil, Switzerland, acquired from Santamaria in Rome in the 1950s or 1960s.
