Description

CAMPANIA. Neapolis . 350-325 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 20 mm, 6.32 g, 9 h). Head of nymph to right; behind, Ε. Rev. [ΝΕΟΠΟΛΙΤΗΣ] Man-headed bull to right with Nike above; below, Ν. HN III 565. SNG ANS 303. Nicely toned. Old abrasions on the obverse and corroded surfaces on the reverse , otherwise, very fine.
From the collection of W.F. Stoecklin acquired in the early 1950s from that of Dr. Naegeli of Zürich (died in 1951) .
