CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. The Parisii . Circa 70-60 BC. Stater (Gold, 24 mm, 6.99 g, 2 h), Class V. Celticized head of Apollo to right. Rev. Stylized horse prancing to left, with a fan-like checker-board design above and behind . DLT 7777. D&T 83. Sills 473. Very rare. An attractive piece on a broad flan. Struck from slightly worn and rusty dies, otherwise . Nearly extremely fine.
