Caracalla, 198-217. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 32 mm, 28.98 g, 1 h), Rome, 215. M AVREL ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Caracalla to right; seen from behind. Rev. P M TR P XVIII IMP III COS IIII P P On the right, Caracalla, in military dress, standing left, his right foot on a crocodile, holding reversed spear with his left hand and extending his right to, on the left, Isis advancing right, holding sistrum and grain ears. Banti 70. BMC 286. Cohen 334. RIC 544. With an attractive dark patina. Some smoothing, otherwise, about extremely fine/very fine.
