Seleucis and Pieria. Antioch. Septimius Severus, 193-211. Tetra­ drachm (Silver, 26 mm, 12.99 g, 12 h), 205-211. ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ CΕΟΥΗΡΟC CΕ-Β Laureate head of Septimius Severus to right. Rev. ΔΗΜΑΡΧ ΕΞ ΥΠΑΤΟ Γ Eagle standing facing with spread wings, his head turned to right holding a wreath in his beak; held in his claws, leg and thigh of sacrificial animal. McAlee 659a. Prieur 200. A very attractive, well centered example. Nearly extremely fine.
