ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena seated left on throne, resting her left elbow on her shield and holding Nike in her outstretched right hand; in outer left field, Φ; in inner left, turreted head of Tyche to right. Thompson 237. A lovely, very well-centered and toned example, particularly nice. Extremely fine.

The coinage of Lysimachos from Smyrna is very small: Thompson only knew of eight tetradrachms, all from the same dies. Since she wrote the total has probably increased by another six: this may well be the finest known example.
