Sicily. Unlocated Punic mints. Circa 330-300 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.10 g, 5 h). Head Tanit-Persephone to left, wearing wreath of barley, triple-pendant earring and pearl necklace; around, four dolphins. Rev. Horse standing to right before a palm-tree; above to left, crescent; below, on exergual line, poppy. Jenkins, ‘Coins of Punic Sicily’, Part 3, 119. SNG Lloyd 1618 same dies. Rare, a splendid example, well-struck and lightly and attractively toned. Extremely fine.
