Description

Domitian, 81-96. Laodiceia ad Mare. Dupondius (Bronze, 25mm, 12.54 g 12), year 132 = 84/5. [ΔΟΜΕΤ]ΙΑΝΩ ΚΑΙCΑΡΙ CΕΒΑCΤΩ ΓΕΡ[ΜΑΝΙΚΩ] Laureate head of Domitian to right; to left, ΒΛΡ. Rev. [ΙΟΥΛΙΕΩΝ ΤΩΝ] ΚΑΙ ΛΑΟΔΙΚΕΩΝ Turreted, veiled and draped bust of Tyche to right, between ΧΑ and ΠΑ. RPC II, 2029. A bold and attractive coin with a glossy black patina. Struck on a short flan, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
