Titus, as Caesar, 69-79. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 31mm, 27.45 g 6), Rome, 72. T CAES VESPASIAN IMP PON TR POT COS II Laureate head of Vespasian to right. Rev. VICTORIA AVGVSTI / SC Victory standing right, inscribing [VIC AVG] on shield attached to palm tree. BMC 637. BN 624. Cohen 385. Hendin 793. RIC 433. Rare. Attractive golden toning. Some pitting and minor scratches, otherwise, nearly very fine.

From the Stoecklin Collection, ex Cahn 71, 14 October 1931, 1529 and from the collection of F. Imhoof-Blumer, Hirsch XVIII 27 May 1907, 700 (a cast of this coin is in the collection in Winterthur).

The reverse of this coin celebrates the Roman victories in Judaea.
