Description

Divus Augustus, died AD 14. As (Copper, 26mm, 10.93 g 7), struck under Tiberius, Rome, 34-37. DIVVS AVGVSTVS PATER Radiate head of Augustus to right. Rev. Eagle, with spread wings, standing facing on a globe, his head to right; to left and right, S C. BMC 155. BN 136. Cohen 247. RIC 82. A lovely piece with a beautiful, glossy, dark green patina. Some minor pitting, otherwise, extremely fine.
