Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 36mm, 25.52 g 9), Rome, under the moneyer L. Naevius Surdinus, 15 BC. OB / CIVIS / SERVATOS in three lines above, within and below an oak wreath flanked by two laurel branches. Rev. L.NAEVIVS SVRDINVS IIIVIR AAAFF around large SC. BMC 139. BN 460. Cohen 471. Florence 292. Mazzini pl. XXIII, 471 (this coin). RIC 383. Nicely struck with an attractive dark olive-green patina. Nearly extremely fine.
