Description

Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Cistophorus (Silver, 28mm, 12.04 g 1), Ephesos, c. 25 BC. IMP CAESAR Bare head of Augustus to right. Rev. AVGVSTVS Garlanded and filleted altar; on the front, two stags facing each other. BMC 694. BN 922. RIC 479. RPC 2215. Sutherland 404a (this coin). Beautifully toned, well-centered and well-struck. Some minor marks and scratches, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
